Diriamba
Diriamba is known for having fertile
lands and a lot of agriculture. It is also very
rich in traditions and folklore. Diriamba means
Big Mountains in the native Chorotega language.

Fiestas Patronales Diriamba
The Diriamba festivities are
two religious events where color and culture
has no limits while celebrating the rich heritage
of its people. One of the festivities celebrates
San Sebastian, patron of the city and the other
one is the San Caralampio festivity.

Playas La Boquita y Casares
Diriamba La Boquita and Casares
are two black sand beaches that attract many
visitors from the area surrounding in during
summer time. The exotic black sand beaches blend
in perfectly with the surrounding nature.

Reserva Silvestre Privada
La Máquina Diriamba
La Maquina Nature Preserve is situated near
Carazo city, at only 40 minutes from Managua.
Here you can discover trails, creeks, waterfalls
and many species of flora and fauna.

Refugio de Vida Silvestre
Río Escalante - Chacocente Santa Teresa
Rio Escalante Nature preserve
is among the most important turtle nesting sites
in the world. Here three species of sea turtles
( Tortugas Paslama (Lepidochelys olivacea) ,
Tortuga Tora (Dermochelys coriacea) and other
species come to nest. The months of July until
January are famous among naturalists, conservationists
and ecotourists because they know that an amazing
natural spectacle takes place.

Jinotepe
Jinotepe has some amazing old buildings, most
of them in neoclassical style. Other styles
present in the city are colonial. Here the visitor
can buy handcrafts, find restaurants and enjoy
local traditions
