Nature
Preserve El Chocoyero El Crucero El
Chocoyero National Park is considered to be
the lung of Managua. The park begins in Las
Nubes. The geography is very irregular. Deep
canyons and forested cliffs are abundant. It
is a favourite spot for birdwatchers because
of the variety and abundance of species.

Old
Managua Managua is the actual
capital of Nicaragua. The old part of the city
has some amazing old buildings, and the visitor
can still breathe the charm of past times. The
Basílica de Santiago de los Caballeros,
The Museum of Acahualinca and the Culture Palace
are among these attractions.

Managua
Lagoons Managua is surrounded
by no less than 4 lagoons, being the most famous
one the Tiscapa Lagoon. This lagoon was created
10000 years ago after a volcanic eruption. Before
the revolution, the Presidential Palace was
situated overlooking the lagoon.

Museum Acahualinca Managua
The Acahualinca Museum is situated
where the famous footsteps where once found.
These footprints where found in 1874 by a group
of scientists looking for stones. In 1969, a
study proved that the footprints where actually
6000 tears old, becoming very famous since then.
The museum is very interesting and a highlight
when visiting Managua.
Loma de Tiscapa Managua Here,
the first Presidential Palace was built in 1927.
After, it served as a private residence during
the next 42 years, during the government of
Somoza. Here the visitor can also enjoy a canopy
ride around the Tiscapa Lagoon, the most famous
lagoon among the 4 surrounding Managua.

Beaches of Managua
The Managua beaches are close to the city. They
are very popular during Eastern Week and Christmas.
Many hotels, restaurants and tour operators
are in the area.

Montibelli Ticuantepe Montibelli
is a private preserve situated near Managua.
Its area of 360 acres protects many endangered
species of plants and animals. Its climate is
regularly fresh.
