Biológica and Cascade San Ramón
Altagracia The Ometepe Biological
Station, situated at the base of Maderas Volcano
and the shores of Cocibolca Lake is an ideal
area for wildlife observation and bird watching.
Visitors can also practice sport fishing, hiking,
horseback riding, boat tours, kayaking and much
more.

Ometepe
Ometepe is a beautiful island situated off the
coasts of Granada and San Jorge, in the region
of San Jorge. There are two important volcanoes
on the island, Concepción Volcano and
Maderas Volcano. It is the largest island in
the lake.

Volcanes Concepción
y Maderas Altagracia Ometepe
is an ecotouristic jewel, including its two
volcanoes Concepción ( 1610 m.a.s.l.
) and Maderas ( 1340 m.a.s.l. ) and a large
area of tropical dry forest. They are united
by a narrow strip of land called Istian. Maderas
Vocano has a beautiful lagoon in its crater.
Both volcanoes are hard to climb, therefore,
visitors need a very good health condition.

Rivas
Rivas is a small region. It
contains some very beautiful and alive beaches,
famous for turtle nesting. It is situated alongside
the Pan-American highway.

San
Juan del Sur San Juan del Sur
has become a very important destination for
tourists that visit Nicaragua. Its beautiful
bay attracts thousands of tourists. There are
many hotels, bars, restaurants, tourism facilities
and tour operators in the area. The horseshoe-like
bay is considered one of the most beautiful
bays and beaches in Central America and was
discovered by the navigator Andres Niño
in 1522. Its original name was San Juan del
Mar del Sur. Its pleasing climate ranges from
25 – 35 centigrade.

La
Flor and Ostional These important
beaches are among the most important beaches
in Central America for the conservation of three
species of sea turtles. They usually arrive
from November to December.

The beaches of San Juan
del Sur There are many beautiful
beaches in the area. The most popular ones are
El Yanki, Ostional, La Flor, El Coco, Maderas
, Majagual, Marsella and Nacascolo. Some of
them are great for excellent surfing too. La
Flor and El Ostional San Juan del Sur.
Famous for the arrival of large
groups of different species of sea turtles,
La Flor and Ostional are among the most important
turtle nesting sites in Central America. Usually,
turtles arrive between the months of November
and December. Three species are famous for its
arrivals And the area therefore is very popular
among ecotourism lovers and conservationists.

Playas
de Tola Tola Tola Tola beaches
are famous for its beauty and also for the arrival
of sea turtles, that nest and hatch, creating
a unique natural spectacle loved among conservationists
and tourists alike. The area offers a large
variety of hotels, tour operators, restaurants
and other facilities.

San
Jorge San Jorge is a small town
on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. From here,
people can access the ferry boat and go to Ometepe.
In San Jorge, you can find many hotels, cabins,
restaurants, shops, bars and tourist info center
at your service.
